66 East 11th Street in New York

As you have probably seen by now, the most expensive parking spots in the world are usually in large cities and New York has three entries on this list, the priciest of them being in the center of Greenwich Village, an appealing neighborhood on the west side of Lower Manhattan.

66 East 11th Street is one of the most luxurious and posh addresses in the entire New York, where you can find a spectacular apartment buildings and some of the most beautiful real estate in town. But parking here is very, very expensive, and if you would count the whole year, it will cost you $1 million to park your car here. The private garage at 66 East 11th Street costs six times more than the national average price of a single-family home.

However, for moguls or celebrities, the rare commodity of a Manhattan parking space inside their building, with a curb cut at the street, is a major status symbol and selling point. The space is about 23 feet long, 12 feet wide, and more than 15 feet high. The parking spot could be “duplexed” if the buyers decide to install an elevator lift so they can slide both their two cars in at the same time. The parking spot will have its own deed and sales contract, and be charged for maintenance, just like a condo would.
