A. Lange & Sohne
A. Lange & Söhne has been around for nearly 200 years. It was re-founded in 1990 by Walter Lange, a direct descendant of the company’s initial founder. With the help of Günther Blümlein, the president of IWC, A. Lange & Söhne was again able to establish itself as the most exclusive German watch manufacturer. Initially, this company produced pocket watches, which were of the best quality at the time. After World War I, the wristwatch trend spread and A.Lange & Sohne also began to change. At the outbreak of World War II, the brand launched wristwatches bigger in size, for German military pilots.
Today, Lange & Sohne has become one of the most prestigious and luxurious watch manufacturers in the world with mechanical movements for sale for $31,500. Characteristic for many A. Lange & Söhne watches are an oversized date display and detailed elaborated complications as in the Lange 1 Time Zone. The regional roots of the company are also reflected in series such as the Saxonia.
