SHIFTPOD, dubbed "the finest portable shelter on the globe," was introduced in 2015 and debuted at the Burning Man event that year. The pop-up tent construction, which was inspired by the event's omnipresent hexayurt, was formed out of a requirement for a sumptuous and insulative all-weather shelter that would reflect the sun's heat and protect against strong wind and fine dust. For its designer, Christian Weber, who has spent the previous few years creating and fine-tuning the design, the product became an almost instant hit.

SHIFTPOD is a modular shelter that can be used in a variety of situations, from festival campgrounds to emergency relief zones. It can be deployed internationally and effectively provide shelter in some of the most extreme environments. ASSI offers one SHIFTPOD to a family in need for every 20 units sold, and the structures have been utilized in the aftermath of disasters all across the world, from Haiti to Nepal. Since February 2017, the company has partnered with a Canadian corporation to give 200 units to organizations that help homeless and displaced families.
