Aker BP is a Norwegian oil exploration and development company with a focus on oil resources on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. The modernization of the Valhall field has been undertaken to remove old wells, invest in new wells and explore new business opportunities in the area. As of 2013, the Valhall mine was powered by electricity from shore.
