The American School of Valencia situated in the picturesque Los Monasterios/Alfinach urbanisation near Puzol, approximately 30 km from Valencia's city center. It is a distinguished co-ed day school offering both the International Baccalaureate (IB) and the American system. Since its founding in 1980, the school has been a beacon of academic excellence, incorporating the IB into its curriculum since 2004.

With a thriving community of 780 students across kindergarten, primary, and secondary schools, The American School boasts a diverse student body. While classes are primarily taught in English, the school attracts a substantial local intake, with 90% of students hailing from Spain. However, the student population is truly global, representing various nationalities from around the world.

The school's unique educational approach combines the American Common Core, the Spanish national curriculum, and the IB curriculum. This blend enables students to earn multiple recognized certificates upon completing secondary school, including the Spanish Bachiller certificate, the IB certificate (for those who opt to study it), and the American High School certificate (for qualifying students).

One of the school's highlights is its commitment to providing students with options for higher education. Graduates are well-prepared for admission to Spanish, US, and UK universities, with the flexibility to choose between the IB, the Spanish university entrance exam ("Selectividad"), or both. Additionally, students have the opportunity to engage in year-long exchanges with American schools, further enriching their educational experience.

The American School of Valencia, known for its solid reputation and sense of community, accepts admission applications year-round. Prospective students starting after the first grade need to submit educational records from the previous three years, along with standardized testing results. The school conducts academic subject testing as part of the admission process, and acceptance is entirely at the discretion of the school, with the possibility of placement on a waiting list.

For nearly four decades, The American School of Valencia has been a cornerstone of educational excellence, preparing students to become open-minded free-thinkers unafraid of taking risks. The majority of graduates continue their academic journey in Spain, while a notable percentage gains admission to leading institutions in North America, the UK, and the rest of Europe.
