Anthony co-founded The Maestro Cares organization with Henry Cardenas
The Maestro Cares Foundation deals with concerns related to housing, healthcare, and education that are unique to children's orphanages in Latin American countries. Anthony and Henry Cardenas, a well-known figure in Latin America's live entertainment sector, co-founded the company in January 2012. The foundation's main goals are to help underprivileged kids have bright futures by offering them vital resources and cutting-edge educational initiatives. According to the organization's mission statement, this resource donation "supports their growth and development. We are assisting youngsters in becoming tomorrow's leaders and building communities via the Maestro Cares Foundation's work."
Teenagers who desire to continue their study can apply for a scholarship from the organization. Over 10,000 children and teens have received assistance from the group thus far, spread over 12 Latin American nations. Peru, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, El Salvador, Mexico, Costa Rica, Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, and Puerto Rico all have initiatives underway under the Maestro Cares Foundation.
“One of the most beautiful aspects of this endeavor is being able to see how their attitude changes when their surroundings are improved; how they grow to fulfill their dreams,” Marc Anthony said of the Maestro Cares Foundation in an interview with The Weekly Journal. The foundation is striving to incorporate the many elements required for a child's growth as it expands. “Sports, like art, are an important part of childhood development,” said Anthony to The Weekly Journal. “It’s important to have these spaces within communities, especially in low-income areas, because they do make a big difference in children’s lives.”
