APOCALYPSE NOW (1979)
Francis Ford Coppola directed and produced Apocalypse Now, a 1979 American epic psychological war film. Marlon Brando, Robert Duvall, Martin Sheen, Frederic Forrest, Albert Hall, Sam Bottoms, Laurence Fishburne, and Dennis Hopper are among the cast members. The script, co-written by Coppola and John Milius, and narrated by Michael Herr, is partly based on Joseph Conrad's 1899 novella Heart of Darkness, with the setting shifted from late-nineteenth-century Congo to the Vietnam War.
Colonel Walter Kurtz, a highly decorated US Army Special Forces officer of the 5th Special Forces Group, turns rogue, is played by Marlon Brando. He commands his own military force in Cambodia, and the US military, as well as the North Vietnamese, Viet Cong, and Khmer Rouge dread him.
