Asbury Wellness Pharmacy

Asbury has a 40-year history in OKC, making it a truly local company. It was first licensed as Gillium Pharmacy at 63rd and May in OKC, and Mike Asbury took over as the owner in 1985. Mike enjoyed compounding and working with local doctors to provide tailored patient care. He was the brains behind Asbury's three-leaf emblem, which he sketched on several notes over the years. Mike had such a strong influence on his children, as well as other 'kids' who worked in the store over the years, that they all continued to have a passion for health and helping people.

Donnie, Mike's widow, became the sole proprietor of Gillium Pharmacy after his death, and changed the name to Asbury Pharmacy as a lasting homage. With the passion of a schoolteacher, she continued to develop Asbury pharmacy. She has cared deeply for her patients and coworkers, leaving an indelible impression on the community and prospering in the pharmaceutical company with her own unique style.

Asbury Pharmacy's third generation is just getting started. Laura and Richard will continue to build the rich heritage so carefully seeded by Mike and Donnie, delivering a personalized type of patient care and collaborative practice with physicians, now that Donnie has retired.
