Asilah

Asilah, which is about 30 kilometers south of Tangier, offers a lovely seafront that may be seen from a vantage point inside the Portuguese Fort. You'll be astounded by the diversity of murals that artistically decorate the medina as you stroll through it. Taste some of the fresh daily catch from the area.

Asilah is still quite authentic, unlike some Moroccan cities where tourism has changed the locals' way of life, making it the ideal place to unplug and reenergize. Its modest inhabitants, laid-back way of life, and white and blue ramparts will certainly instantly put you at ease.

Another location you shouldn't skip is Asilah beach. Perfect for swimming and sunbathing, you can also visit the nearby local market to enjoy cheaply fresh fish that has been grilled (very good!). Don't forget to visit the city's major rampart before the afternoon is over for a spectacular and sentimental view of the sunset.
