Assassin's Creed

The popular Ubisoft franchise is ranked 14th on the list. The public's adoration for the series began with the release of the first game, Assassin's Creed, in 2007, but it was Assassin's Creed II that appeared to lure them in and truly make it a household brand in gaming. For its novelty and extremely fascinating view on historical events, the series appears to have attracted a significant following. It was also a lot of fun to scale structures and take out swarms of foes without being detected.

The series may have started to tire fans out with its nearly yearly releases, and Ubisoft noticed, so we'll have to wait a bit for the next entry in this historical series. Whether set in the Italian Renaissance, the American Revolution, or the Industrial Revolution in England, this series has made the most of its setting and presented a compelling mix of fictitious and real people.
