Atauro island
One of the most beautiful islands in Timor-Leste is Atauro Island. It is a small oceanic island and municipality located north of Dili, East Timor, at the extinct Wetar section of the volcanic Inner Banda Arc, among the Indonesian islands of Alor and Wetar. The nearest island is the Indonesian island of Liran, 13 km to the northeast.
Timor-Leste’s Ataúro Island is the untouched ecotourism gem of Southeast Asia.
