The Avenida 4 de Fevereiro in Luanda is one of the city's main thoroughfares. In memory of the metro’s 1576 founding father, Avenida de Paulo Dias de Novais was the street’s imperial name as it ran along the Bay of Luanda’s shore.

The avenue overlooks the Bay of Luanda and is regarded as a major artery in the capital. This famous boulevard is home to a number of government offices, hotels, and the headquarters of some of Angola's largest and most well-known corporations. The National Bank of Angola and Agostinho Neto University are also located here. Along with the breathtaking view of the Bay of Luanda, the avenue features several large open spaces ideal for running, walking, or cycling.
