Even when compared to slices of wheat bread, English muffins were healthier in some ways. English muffins have fewer calories than two slices of wheat bread combined. A wheat English muffin contains approximately 100 milligrams of calcium, compared to approximately 80 milligrams in slices of wheat bread.
