Beaches in the Tri Villages: Rodanthe, Waves & Salvo

As you go down the Atlantic coast, the beaches of these three cities merge into one another. The beach along the Atlantic, like many of the other beaches on the Outer Banks, is vast and backed by dunes. These beaches are ideal for individuals seeking some privacy and seclusion. Kitesurfing is popular in this part of the Outer Banks. Kiteboarding is most popular in the towns of Salvo and Waves. Here you'll find fantastic facilities for learning, buying gear, or simply getting out on the water.

The renowned beach home featured in the movie Nights in Rodanthe, which was moved slightly inland off the beach in 2010 due to erosion, may be seen off route 12 on Beacon Road if you are a fan of Richard Gere or Diane Lane.
