Big Boi of Outkast introduced the Big Boi's Diamond-studded Air Force 1 by Nike, which retails for $50,000, during the Solitaire Kicks event. Laced Up Atlanta and P&C Diamonds collaborated on the sneakers, which are adorned with diamonds. The shoes were adorned with 13K champagne diamonds, and Big Boi was the first celebrity to acquire them at the event. Big Boi's Big Kidz Foundation received the proceeds from the sale of the shoes.
The Nike Air Force 1 was first released in 1982 but was only available for a year. In 1986, they were reintroduced with the Nike logo on the back. Since then, the company has sold over $800 million worth of shoes in over 1,700 different varieties.
