Our favorite design in this lantern lineup is the BioLite AlpenGlow 500, which manages to combine an impressive 500-lumen maximum output with well-thought-out features! Cases in point are the built-in loop to hold the lantern at camp, accompanied by an incorporated USB connector to charge technological devices such as your phone.
This lantern also comes in multiple color modes to choose from, ranging from warm and cool white to a "fireworks" mode. You can be confident that this lantern can satisfy all your aesthetic preferences!
In general, the BioLite AlpenGlow 500 is contemporary and stylish, well crafted, and powerful enough to act as your only source of light at camp. In fact, some customers report that they have just lately begun using it at nighttime in their vehicle, and yet, it's sufficiently bright to serve as their sole source of illumination for cooking and cleaning!
How about some minor disadvantages? ? The BioLite AlpenGlow 500 is costly at $80, rather large and thick, and is not collapsible for storage in a packed car trunk or luggage bin.
