Boiling Lake

Boiling Lake, the second-largest of its kind in the world, is a flooded fumarole from a volcano in the region known as the Valley of Desolation. Words like "alien life" or "life on another planet" seem to describe what you'll find if you're brave enough. However, they perfectly capture what you'll find here. It is definitely one of the best lakes to visit in Dominica. The lake, which is 200 feet wide and whose depth is unknown, is surrounded by whirling clouds of mist and resembles a cauldron of rapidly seething grayish-blue water that has been heated by molten magma beneath the surface of the nearby rock. The breathtaking views that surround Boiling Lake, which have unobstructed views of the ocean and the nearby island of Martinique, as well as a timeless landscape formed by erosion and volcanic forces of nature over the course of 200 million years, are the only things that can compare to the wonder of the lake. Small lizards and a few different types of insects are among the toughest animals on the earth, and they live in the immediate vicinity.
