Booming Ice Chasm is an ice cave in Alberta, Canada, in the Crowsnest Pass area of the Rocky Mountains. In June of 2008, members of the Alberta Speleological Society discovered the entrance to Booming Ice Chasm by mistake while attempting to explore a different cave. The Alberta Speleological Society went on to investigate and map the cave. A 180-meter-long sheet of pure ice never melts in the Booming Ice Chasm cave. It is the largest ice cave in North America, according to speleologist Chas Yonge.
