Bowers & Wilkin 606 S2 Anniversary Edition

Bowers & Wilkins' 600 series has been around for about 25 years. In theory, the low-key tone of the Bowers & Wilkin 606 S2 Anniversary Edition modifications leaves us unimpressed - in light of the anniversary's significance. They entail the introduction of an oak gloss to complement the current black and white finishes, as well as an inscription that commemorates the Anniversary status on the tweeter surround.

The only performance enhancement is a modified crossover that now includes higher-quality resistors, some of which have been initially covered in the more expensive 700 Signature series that was just recently launched.

Due to that reason, we were not anticipating much of a change in the sound quality - given the barely existent technical adjustments. We were so glad that we turned out to be wrong! It is true that the Bowers & Wilkin 606 S2 Anniversary Edition has a generally similar sound signature. Nevertheless, it is substantially more capable than most of its predecessors.
