British International School, Phuket (BISP), is an English medium, co-educational, day and boarding school that was established in 1996 in the heart of Phuket, Thailand. Its purpose-built 44-acre campus includes high-quality boarding accommodations and provides world-class facilities that enable students to excel in sports and the expressive arts, as well as in their studies.
The school is jointly accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). It is also a member of the International School Association of Thailand (ISAT), the Federation of British International Schools in Asia (FOBISIA), and the Boarding Schools Association of the United Kingdom (BSA).
The student population consists of some 900 day and boarding students with over 60 different nationalities represented. The majority of the student body (more than 60%) are foreign nationals. Such a massive number of students proves its popularity and reputation. Moreover, pupils coming from different ages can have different learning plans to hone their skills in the best ways.
The sports facilities are exceptional as well, with two swimming pools (one of Olympic size) and a professionally coached swim team that regularly competes throughout Asia. Loughborough University graduates support the sporting life of the school through a GAP program established with the University.
