Brompton Bicycles
Andrew Ritchie established Brompton Bicycles in 1976 in London, England. Ritchie was motivated to design a folding bike that was both portable and simple to operate. Since the company's first folding bicycle was granted a patent in 1979, folding bicycles have been produced by Brompton.
