C Programming Language

Brian W. Kernighan earned his BASc in 1964 from the University of Toronto and his PhD in electrical engineering in 1969 from Princeton. He was a member of Bell Labs' Computing Science Research Center until 2000, and he is now a professor in Princeton's Computer Science Department. He co-created various computer languages, including AWK, AMPL, and a number of document preparation tools. He is the co-author of ten books and several technical publications, as well as the holder of four patents.

Dennis Ritchie was a computer scientist notable for his influence on ALTRAN, B, BCPL, C, Multics, and Unix.
