The movie has a cult following, and ESPN called it "perhaps the funniest sports movie ever filmed."
The story revolves around Danny Noonan (Michael O'Keefe) is a down-on-his-luck kid who works as a caddy at the exclusive Bushwood Country Club to help pay for his college tuition. And Noonan volunteers to caddy for a renowned and powerful club member in order to collect votes for a college scholarship reserved for caddies (Ted Knight).
