Café du Mond

The iconic Café du Mond invites visitors to come and enjoy a nostalgic flavor of France in the heart of New Orleans. You can have your drink black or in the traditional Café au Lait manner (half-and-half with heated milk). The first Cafe Du Monde Coffee Stand opened in the New Orleans French Market in 1862. The Cafe is open seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Only on Christmas Day and when a hurricane passes too close to New Orleans does it close.

A traditional coffee establishment, the Original Cafe Du Monde. Dark roasted Coffee and Chicory, Beignets, White and Chocolate Milk, and freshly squeezed Orange Juice are on the menu. Coffee is available in two flavors: black and au lait. It's served au lait, which means it's half-and-half with heated milk. Beignets are square French-style doughnuts with lots of powdered sugar on top
