Cartier
Cartier was founded by Louis-François Cartier in 1847. This is one of the brands that King Edward VII once called "jewelry for kings and kings of jewels".
One of the hallmarks of the company's success is the Bestiary collection and the "Santos" leather watch model produced in 1904. The Santos watch is named after Alberto Santos-Dumont, one of the Aviation pioneers, a close friend of Louis Cartier.
Currently, the Cartier brand is run by Pierre Cartier's great-grandson, Elle Pagels and the Richemont Group. Cartier is one of the leading luxury watch and jewelry brands with more than 200 stores on 5 continents and exclusive distribution networks.
Advantages of Cartier watches:
- Cartier watches are powered with high-end mechanical calipers.
- Cartier owns their first high-end Flying Tourbillon movement, which was the caliber that received the first Geneva Seal for Cartier.
- Cartier built especially a new in-house caliber that was built around a sapphire crystal dial with the floating hands.
