Chaghour Ed Dahab
Rounding out the list of highest mountains in Syria is Chaghour Ed Dahab. Damascus, Syria's capital city, is nestled in an oasis fed by the River Barada. It is one of the world's oldest continuously inhabited cities. With an elevation of 8,400 feet, Chaghour Ed Dahab is the third tallest mountain in Damascus and Syria. The mountain is located in the city of Darayya, which was a key location during the Syrian civil war and saw a huge number of people slaughtered. Mount Hermon, Jabal Tonnoura, and Jabal al Kharshunah are only a few of the nearby summits. Chaghour ed Dahab is east of Mount Hermon and southeast of Ej Jnéné.
Besides Chaghour Ed Dahab, there are other high mountains in Syria including Tal'at Musa, Jabal Abu Baruh, Jabal Al Ithnayn, Qornet El Boustane, Jabal Halimah, Ar Rajur, and Shaqif.
