Cheng Hoon Teng

Cheng Hoon Teng, also known as the merciful cloud temple, is the oldest Chinese temple in Malaysia and is devoted to Kuan Yin, the goddess of kindness. It is situated on Melaka's well-known harmony street and features a vast magnificent praying hall with a black, gold, and red-robed statue of the goddess Kuan Yin, one of Malaysia's most well-known icons.

The most remarkable feature of the temple is a 7-meter-tall red flag poll, which houses the bones of 2-3 commanders who assisted in the construction of the temple. The entrance and other interiors are ornately carved and artistically constructed, while the surrounding area is densely forested, making it excellent for calm strolls.
