Chevrolet was born in the United States and has a history of formation and development for more than 100 years, present in 120 countries around the world. In Vietnam, Chevrolet experienced many ups and downs and changed owners 3 times in just 25 years. Chevrolet has the full name of Chevrolet Division of General Motors Company, in addition, it is also known as Chevy. This is the automobile division of General Motors (GM) in the United States.
On November 3, 1911, in Detroit - USA, Chevrolet Motor Car Company was officially established by William C. Durant. The cars produced by the company have a strong, masculine and sporty American style without losing luxury and class. That's why Chevrolet has become Ford's biggest competitor at home. Up to now, The Chevrolet car brand has been present in 140 countries worldwide and has production facilities in 34 countries, including Vietnam.
In the Vietnamese market, Chevrolet achieved record-high sales since its presence in 2006 with the number of 10,576 vehicles, an increase of 8.5% compared to the previous year. This result helped Chevrolet have a 3.9% market share in Vietnam. A significant contribution to the sales of The Chevrolet brand in the Vietnam market is the Colorado pickup with 3,082 units sold. Sales of this pickup model tripled from 2014 to 2015 and doubled between 2015 and 2016, which is also the highest increase in the brand's segments. Colorado holds the 2nd position in the pickup truck segment in the Vietnam market only after the Ford Ranger and is also one of the 10 best-selling models in the whole market in April, October and November 2017.
