China State Shipbuilding

The China State Shipbuilding Corporation, one of the world's major shipbuilding businesses with headquarters in Beijing, China, is ranked eighth on this list of the largest shipbuilding companies in the world. In November 2019, it was founded by the merger of two state-owned shipbuilding businesses, CSIC and CSSC. With total assets of USD 112 billion and 310,000 employees, the new organization today encompasses 147 research institutes, commercial units, and publicly traded firms.


China State Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., CSSC Offshore & Marine Engineering (Group) Co., Ltd, and CSSC Science & Technology Co., Ltd. are the CSSC's three listed firms. CSSC is one of China's top ten defense conglomerates, with a diverse range of shipyards, equipment manufacturers, research institutes, and shipbuilding-related businesses that produce both civilian and military vessels.
