Clovelly
The village of Clovelly is famous for its simple whitewashed houses on the North Devon coast. This used to be a crowded fishing place and now there are more than 300 people living here. Today, there are only a few fishing boats operating in the waters near the village of Clovelly. The village is built on a cliff hundreds of meters high and the only way to enter the village is on foot. The main road to enter the village is made entirely of stones picked from the seashore, with many small niches, turning into ancient wooden houses, churches, gardens, and peaceful tea rooms.
Visitors can visit two museums here: The Kingsley Museum with memories of the life of Victorian writer Charles Kingsley and Fisherman's Cottage, where you can enjoy historical footage of the village from the 1930s. , you can learn and buy local handicrafts around such as pottery, porcelain,...
