It is the ninth best-selling album of all time in the United States and worldwide. In the United Kingdom, it is also the sixteenth best-selling album.

Come On Over had sold over 40 million copies worldwide as of 2020, with over 20 million copies shipped in the United States, with over 15.7 million copies sold according to Nielsen SoundScan, and another 1.99 million through BMG Music Clubs.
