Corbin Russwin

Corbin Russwin was founded in 1839 and has since become a leading maker of architectural door hardware. Corbin Russwin is one of twelve brands offered by ASSA ABLOY Door Security Solutions and has its production site in Berlin, Connecticut.

This firm is a mash-up of a few well-known lock names. The first is the Corbin firm, which began manufacturing ox balls or horn knobs (a name I do not suggest Googling) to conceal the sharp tips of cow horns in the late 1840s. Later on, this firm would specialize in the manufacture of locks. Padlocks and cabinet locks were the most common types of locks found. After merging with Corbin, Russwin was renamed Corbin Russwin until they were purchased and renamed Corbin Russwin. The locks have proven quite popular for school and other high-traffic institutions' door locks.

Because the locks are simple to repair and replace, convenience is at the heart of this confidence. Even without security pins, they provide a slew of problems in terms of picking resistance. The locks get simpler to pick as they age, which is why servicing and replacement are so crucial. These locks are not perfect for every scenario, but they perform an adequate job of protecting the doors they are installed on.
