Corthay
Pierre Corthay established the upscale French shoe company Corthay in 1990. At the Campagnons du Devoir, a guild of master artisans, Pierre Corthay started his shoemaking apprenticeship in 1979. After seven years of schooling, he came across an abandoned workshop in Beaupréau, France, which he took over and converted into his own atelier for creating shoes.
Boots produced by Corthay is handcrafted utilizing age-old techniques. Calfskin, suede, and alligator leather are just a few of the premium materials that the business uses. One shoemaker works on one pair of shoes at a time, spending up to 18 hours on each pair.
Corthay boots is renowned for its flawless design and high-end materials. Celebrities and fashion leaders like Tom Ford, Robert Pattinson, and David Beckham are fans of the brand. Most impressively, the French Ministry of Culture conferred the title of Master of Art on Pierre Corthay in 2008.
A pair of Corthay boots typically costs roughly €2,000 in France. The type of boot, the materials used, and the degree of customization can all affect price, though. For instance, the average cost of a pair of Corthay Chelsea boots in calf leather is roughly €2,200, while the price of a pair of Corthay Jodhpur boots in suede can reach €2,500.
