Craiyon

Craiyon is an AI model that generates images based on text prompts entered by users. It was initially known as DALL-E Mini and was designed as a lighter version of OpenAI's DALL-E. The model was trained on millions of internet images and captions that accompanied them, allowing it to create images from just a text prompt. Additionally, the model can combine concepts to produce new images from any prompt it has a reference for.

The time it takes for Craiyon to create images depends on how it is being run. It takes approximately two and a half minutes to generate images from the interactive web demo, while locally run instances' speed depends on the computer's hardware. However, in Google Colab, it only takes about a minute to produce images.

Craiyon is accessible for free for non-commercial usage, with premium membership tiers available for business use cases. The free tier is sponsored by advertising, and paid tiers offer lower wait times for image generation. This incredible model was created by Boris Dayma, a machine learning engineer based in Houston, Texas. Boris developed the tool during JAX/FLAX Community Week in June 2021. He has also created other machine-learning projects such as HuggingTweets.
