Crew Clothing
Crew Clothing is a British clothing shop that sells men's and women's casual wear, shoes, and accessories through stores and mail orders. The garments are British-inspired and influenced by British casual wear, athletic, and sailing traditions, according to the brand. Alistair Parker-Swift founded the company in 1993. He ran a windsurfing school in Salcombe, Devon, during the summers in the early 1990s. He made some navy and white rugby jerseys in the summer of 1993, using fabric from a local source. Later, he sold garments at Cowes Week, a regatta event on the Isle of Wight, and later launched a store. In 1995, the first store in London opened on the New King's Road. Louise Barnes was the company's CEO as of 2014, and major shareholders included founder Alistair Parker-Swift and the private equity firm Livingbridge.
The dyeing of this garment requires half as much water as usual, and 92 percent of it is recycled, saving freshwater through more sustainable procedures. It's made from pesticide-free organic cotton piqué that uses 88 percent less water than regular cotton. Keep an eye out for a new shade of blue on our crossed oars.
