Da Poke Shack

Da Poke Shack is a modest restaurant that specializes in poke bowls, a classic Hawaiian dish comprised of cubed raw ahi served over rice with a variety of spices. They also have shrimp, tako, and taegu on the menu. They serve traditional lau lau and kalua pulled pork to those who do not eat seafood. Besides, they even have a vegetarian poke bowl on the menu, as well as gluten-free choices! Additionally, all poke bowls and plates come with rice and locally inspired side dishes.

Pele's Kiss, made with Hawaiian chili and habanero peppers, and the Wet Hawaiian, made with sesame and kukui nut oils, are two house specialties. There are only two chairs inside and a couple of picnic tables outside in this no-frills takeout restaurant. Da Poke Shack, which is nestled in the parking lot of a condo complex three miles from downtown Kailua-Kona, was named the greatest restaurant in the United States by Yelp in 2014.
