Dalmore 62

The first one in the list of the most expensive alcoholic drinks in the world - Dalmore 62 is a bit of an enigma since no one knows where it got its name or how the single-malt became so pricey.

Because just 12 bottles were made, the price is heavily influenced by scarcity. Surprisingly, the most recent bottle to be seen in public was purchased in Singapore's airport. The auction price falls short of the $250,000 paid for another of the 12 Dalmore 62 bottles at Singapore's Changi Airport in 2011, at the height of the Far East's luxury spending boom. You could purchase a Porsche with this much and still have money left over to spend on vacations on the idyllic beaches of the Maldives.

Price: $250,000
