Datacom Group
Datacom Group Limited is an information technology services company that provides management and consultancy, cloud services, ITO, data center services, bespoke software development, and payroll services. The company was founded in New Zealand in 1965 but has since expanded to Australia, Malaysia, the Philippines, the United States, and the United Kingdom, employing 6,500 people across 23 offices worldwide. Datacom is the largest technology company in New Zealand.
The firm's two largest shareholders are Evander Management Ltd (John Holdsworth's family company) with 51 per cent and the New Zealand Superannuation Fund with 35 percent. In 2012, the New Zealand Superannuation Fund committed $142 million to acquire New Zealand Post's 35% stake. John Holdsworth stepped down as chairman of the board in 2012 and was succeeded by Craig Boyce, a New Zealand businessman. Datacom recorded revenue of NZ$1.29 billion at the end of the 2018/2019 fiscal year, an increase of 17% year on year.
