David Luiz
Flamengo's David Luiz Moreira Marinho is a Brazilian professional footballer. He is mostly a center-back, although he can also play defensive midfield.
David Luiz began his career with Vitoria and later transferred to Benfica, where he spent five seasons (three complete). He joined Chelsea in January 2011, and during the 2011–12 season, he won the UEFA Champions League. He won the UEFA Europa League the next season. He joined Paris Saint-Germain for £50 million in June 2014, a world-record sum for a defender at the time, and won all four domestic tournaments during his two seasons in France. In August 2016, he returned to Chelsea in a £30 million move. In 2019, he joined local rivals Arsenal before returning to his homeland to play for Flamengo in 2021.
David Luiz made his full international debut for Brazil in 2010 and has since amassed more than 50 caps. He was a member of the Brazilian teams that won the FIFA Confederations Cup in 2013 and advanced to the 2014 FIFA World Cup semi-finals, as well as two editions of the Copa América.
