Deogyusan
Deogyusan, previously spelled Togyusan, is a mountain in South Korea. Its maximum height is 1,614 meters above sea level. Deogyusan stands at the border of Jeollabuk-do and Gyeongsangnam-do, overlaying quantities of Muju and Jangsu Counties in Jeollabuk-do and Geochang and Hamyang Counties in Gyeongsangnam-do.
Standing upon the Baekdudaegan, the mountainous backbone of the Korean Peninsula, Deogyusan includes many peaks. The tallest height of Deogyusan is Hyangjeokbong. It draws vacationers each year to Deogyusan National Park to look at the mountain, in addition to the Chiryeon Waterfall, the Cheoksan mountain fortress, and the wintry weather ski lodge of Muju. Deogyusan consists of 250 animal species and 600 plant species. There are numerous Buddhist temples on Deogyusan.
