Dracula

This book is at the top of this list for one simple reason: Dracula has become one of the most well-known books of all time. Bram Stoker's novel introduced the world to Dracula, who has since been portrayed in a plethora of television programs, movies, cartoons, video games, and other media.

The novel, however, is much more than a simple fiction about drinking blood; it is a story about Victorian morality and sexuality. Dracula is depicted as a hothead who seduces and takes the blood of innocent young ladies. To no avail, a group of waist-coated heroes strives to catch this monster. Dracula is still one of the classic horror myths, telling us about the Vampire who started it all.
