Durham District School Board
The Durham District School Board (DDSB) offers an exceptional Academy for Student-Athlete Development (ASAD) program to support high school student-athletes and performers. The ASAD program provides a unique and inclusive model to aid students striving for success at regional, provincial, national, and international levels of competition, including able-bodied, parasport, and Special Olympic performance pathways.
This program is designed to make high-performance sports training more accessible and equitable for students from diverse backgrounds. Each student-athlete is considered full-time equivalency, balancing time between their home school and ASAD training facilities.
Partnering with nationally and globally recognized experts, the program ensures optimal academic, athletic, and psychosocial benefits for participating student-athletes. With a focus on both academic and athletic development, ASAD is an invaluable resource for high-performing secondary school athletes and performers within the DDSB.
