Easter Cards
According to Wikipedia, the first Easter cards were sent out at the very end of the 19th century, just over 100 years ago. The Easter bunny, sheep, flowers, eggs, and frequently young girls who were a sign of luck and optimism were early pictures on Easter postcards and cards. With the theme of hope and new life that Easter conveys, they might now include pictures of butterflies and spring.
Sending a card at any time, whether you identify as a Christian or not, might cheer someone up. There is a reason the Greeting Card Association uses the phrase "send a card, deliver a smile" as its industry slogan. Sending a card is exactly what can do that. An Easter card, whether you believe in it or not, can cheer you when things are hard. Or maybe it's just a reminder of the wonderful world in which humans live.
