Escada SE is a luxury women's designer clothing company headquartered in Munich, Germany. The company is owned by Regent, L.P., an international private equity firm led by investor Michael Reinstein.

Margaretha and Wolfgang Ley started Escada in Munich, Germany, in 1978. Margaretha Ley, a former model with a strong education in tailoring from Stockholm's Royal Court, became noted for her bright, feminine designs. Escada's first womenswear collection, which featured delicate inlays and appliqués, debuted in 1978. The company quickly became known for its unique designs, which included odd color and pattern combinations, original needlework, and intricately crafted knitted clothes. Escada experienced a rapid rise in popularity and continued to expand its collections and creative activities.

Under the two product lines Escada and Escada Sport the brand offers its customers a lifestyle concept for dressing, filled with everything from must-have daywear for business and leisure to glamorous evening wear. Apart from ready-to-wear, shoes and bags, the product range offers Escada fragrances, eyewear, watches and jewelry.

The brand operates in 24 countries throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. With around 1,100 points of sale, Escada is present in 80 countries worldwide.
