Famous Polish drink
Vodka is Poland's national beverage. Although many purists disagree, fruit or molasses can also be used to make vodka, which is a distillate that is primarily made from fermented grains or potatoes. There are numerous times the base material can be distilled, and each distillation yields stronger and purer vodka variations. "Wódka," the term for vodka in Polish, corresponds to "water," which is regarded in Polish culture as a metaphor for life. According to some written records, the national beverage of Poland has been made there since at least the 14th century.
While many people have had unpleasant experiences with vodka that burns, you will not typically encounter this with Polish vodka unless you opt for the high % varieties. Poland also has some amazing flavored vodka. There are several flavors available that are still in your budget. One of our absolute favorites is the Krupnik Slony Karamel, followed closely by the Soplica Plum.
