Frieren and Fern vs Einsam
Frieren and Fern have visited the Wille Region 28 years after the Hero Himmel's passing. To gather supplies and take a break for the day, they arrive in a town located in the Wille Region. They hear about a supposed ghost while assembling materials. Frieren speculates what it might be while keeping Fern in the dark while they talk about it. The following morning, they make plans to visit the mountain pass.
While traversing the mountain pass, Frieren and Fern happen upon the spot where the residents had reportedly vanished. They pick up on magic, particularly ghost magic. They believe it comes from Einsam, the ghost demon.
When fog starts to form in the forest route that Frieren and Fern are traveling on, they stop traveling. Heiter appears as a phantom for Fern and Himmel as a phantom for Frieren. Frieren fires at the phantom despite Fern's hesitation. Fern kills the Einsam by doing the same swiftly. They both head back north on their quest.
