Another of the finest standing desks is the Jarvis Bamboo, which, as the name implies, is made of bamboo – it's ecologically friendly since the bamboo is farmed ethically (without pesticides), and it has a strong polyurethane covering.

Underneath it is a structure capable of sustaining more than 150kg and with a full extension ideal for people up to 6-foot-7-inches tall. It's a strong desk that glides into place extremely easily (and silently), with adjustments performed with a basic up/down control panel or an improved programmable handset (which you can use to set different heights into the memory).

The Jarvis is available in a normal rectangular desk design, contoured (with a concave curve at the front), and even an L-shaped variation for use in a corner. This standing desk also has a number of useful features, such as desk lighting, drawers, and a desk shelf for your monitor – or, if you want to go really fancy, a gas-activated monitor arm.
