Gabrielle Aplin
Gabrielle Aplin is a singer-songwriter from England. Aplin signed a recording deal with Parlophone in February 2012 after gaining a following on YouTube for her acoustic music covers. The following November, she shot to fame when she was chosen to record the music for a John Lewis television commercial, which featured a cover of Frankie Goes to Hollywood's "The Power of Love," which went on to top the UK Singles Chart.
Her debut album, English Rain, was released in May 2013 with favorable reviews. "Please Don't Say You Love Me," "Panic Cord," "Home," and "Salvation" were among the songs released from the album, which debuted at number two on the UK Album Chart. English Rain was certified Gold in the United Kingdom after selling over 100,000 copies.
