Gadani Beach
The magnificent coast of Gadani beach is bordered by rugged cliffs at Cape Monze beach and the estuary of the hub river, and is named after a tiny fishing community with around 10,000 inhabitants in Balochistan's Lasbela District. The beach lies 50 kilometers northwest of Karachi and makes for an ideal picnic area, inviting you to lean back and gaze at the vast waves of the Arabian Sea while your toes dig into the silky sand on the beach. The coast is fascinatingly strewn with rusted debris of ship hulls and powerful vessels that once commanded the sea, thanks to the adjacent existence of Gadani Ship-breaking Yard, Pakistan's largest and oldest ship cemetery.
Some exciting things to do on and near Gadani Beach include:
- Have a mouth-watering serving of seawater fish at a local restaurant, costing around PKR 300 per plate.
- Ride camels, enjoy boat rides or go on a fishing escapade
- Take a hike on marble rocks and catch amazing views of the Arabian Sea from above the rocky hillside
- Have an ultimate camping experience by spending the night stargazing
- End your beach escape with lighting a bonfire by the sea
