Globetronics was founded in 1991 and is based in Penang, Malaysia. Its first venture is to supply programming services to a multinational corporation. Globetronics has developed into one of Southeast Asia's leading electronics manufacturers, having subsidiaries in Malaysia and China and manufacturing facilities in a variety of places. The company designs, develops, and manufactures custom analog and digital integrated circuits, sensors, and optoelectronic components, as well as manufactures and assembles LED products, and serves customers in various markets such as automotive, consumer electronics, and industrial markets, among others. Globetronics was founded in a small 20,000 square foot rented facility by two ambitious entrepreneurs. The company's original paid-up capital was RM 3 million, and its first activity was providing burn-in services to a global corporation. Today, Globetronics is a corporation listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad, with eight subsidiaries and one associated company, a paid-up capital of more than RM180 million, and manufacturing facilities in numerous locations around Malaysia.
